Modasmart 400 mg is a high strength wakefulness-promoting medication containing modafinil. It is used to treat excessive daytime sleepiness associated with Narcolepsy, Shift Worker Sleep Disorder and Sleep apnea. While 400 mg is the maximum recommended daily dose for adults, it carries a higher risk of side effects.

DOSAGE

SIDE EFFECTS

• Cyclosporine: Modafinil can lower blood levels of this immune-suppressing drug.
• Omeprazole, diazepam: Levels may be increased; increased risk of adverse effects. 

Stimulants and CNS Drugs

• Amphetamines or methylphenidate: Combined use increases strain on the heart.
• Other stimulants: modafinil and other stimulants like armodafinil when used in combination can lead to overdose. 

Alcohol and Substances

• Alcohol: Can cause unpredictable physical or mental reactions.

PRECAUTIONS & WARNINGS

• If you experience a severe skin rash, hypersensitivity symptoms, or symptoms that could indicate Stevens-Johnson syndrome, toxic epidermal necrolysis, DRESS, angioedema, or anaphylaxis, stop taking modafinil right away and get medical help.
• Don’t drive or operate heavy machinery until you know how modafinil affects you, because in some people it may affect your ability to pay attention and make decisions.
